This is a truly gruesome and heartbreaking story that has emerged from Imo State over the last 24 hours. The incident has sent shockwaves through the Umuokpo community in the Emeabiam area of Owerri West Local Government Area.
The Incident DetailsAccording to reports and police statements from Tuesday, February 10, 2026, two siblings—a male and a female—conspired to kill their elder brother, who has been identified as Chinedu
The Act: Following a heated dispute (reportedly over family property or a long-standing grievance), the two siblings allegedly attacked and murdered Chinedu inside the family compound.
The Discovery: The victim’s sudden disappearance raised red flags among other relatives and neighbors. After a few days of suspicion, the matter was reported to the police. Upon interrogation, the siblings reportedly confessed to the crime and led detectives to the site where the body was buried.
The Cover-up: To hide the crime, they dragged his body to a secluded part of the compound and buried him in a shallow grave.

Arrests: The Imo State Police Command has taken both siblings into custody.
