The legal feud between cryptocurrency mogul Linus Williams (popularly known as Blord) and social media firebrand VeryDarkMan (VDM) has reached a shocking new peak.

On April 1, 2026, the Federal High Court in Abuja ordered that Blord be remanded at the Kuje Correctional Center for 26 days.

This isn’t just about a “social media beef”—it’s a full-blown legal battle involving allegations of forgery and identity theft. Blord was arraigned on several counts related to the unauthorized use of VeryDarkMan’s identity to promote his businesses

The core allegations include:

  • Identity Theft: Using VDM’s face and name on billboards and fliers for the Billpoint app and “Blunt Gadget” without any legal agreement.
  • Forgery: Allegedly forging flight tickets in VDM’s name (Martins Otse) to trick the public into thinking the activist was flying to Onitsha for a business launch.
  • False Endorsements: Claiming VDM was a brand ambassador who had been paid a staggering ₦500 million

While VDM’s fans are celebrating, the move has sparked a debate on legal ethics. Activist Omoyele Sowore has publicly condemned the celebration of the remand, describing it as an “oppressive” use of the law. Sowore even called on VDM’s lawyer, Marshal Abubakar, to disengage from the case, arguing that sending Blord to prison before a final conviction isn’t a victory for justice.
